Dr. Aftab Mufti, President of ISHMII, has received the extraordinary honour of being granted the Mirko-Ros Award from EMPA, which is the world-renowned Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research.

The Mirko-Ros Award was presented to Dr. Mufti for his outstanding life's work in research and education. Dr. Mufti is the recipient of many awards. In 2001, he was honoured by Dalhousie University for his outstanding contribution to education, research and industry. This year he received the 2005 Merit Award from the Council of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of Manitoba, recognizing outstanding achievement, including direct advancement of the engineering profession.
